Front seating area, driver side, behind dash, driver side of steering column, mounted above fuse panel.
On a 1996 Ford Bronco the turn signal flasher is plugged in to the fuse box
you cant.
On a 1996 Ford E-150 : Rotate the headlight knob in your dash fully COUNTERCLOCKWISE to turn on the courtesy and cargo lights
Disable ignition and turn steering wheel stop to stop while cranking engine. Repeat until air bubbles and or noise is gone. Crank no more than 15 seconds at a time.
Take hold of the turn signal light connector. Push the connector in and turn at the same time. The connector and light will come free. Do the same with the light bulb to remove it.
There is no distributor, there is a sensor at the flywheel and the eng uses a coilpack. Doug C
There is a relay switch for the signal flasher's, on your 1997 Ford van. The relay switch is below the dashboard on the drivers side.
try looking on the left hand of the steering column clipped to the instrument panel below the fuse panel.
the ash lights come on when you turn your park/ head lights on are so you may have a faulty head light switch!
Check the 1996 Windstar's starter first. If the starter is working but it cant turn the motor, take a ratchet and turn the crankshaft by the front bolt. If the crank wont turn over then something inside of the engine has seized up.
It is either a blown fuse, defective Flasher Relay, defective turn signal switch, blown bulbs, or loose or corroded bulb socket. If none of the turn signals flash, then the flasher is bad. Replace it.
