If you need to do a credit check you normally just go into the rental office and fill out their required documents, or you can obtain a free copy of your credit report from your bank. When you go to the office of the duplex there is normally a small fee so bring money.
if a apartment complex does not take your social security number nor checks your credit, and they give you an apartment for rent, when you decide to leave that complex, will you have any credit history on your credit?
When you rent a cell phone you have to have a credit card. There is an authorization fee which is billed immediately to your credit card and the fee is substantial. There does not seem to be any kind of checks that they do.
If you have contacted the agency and applied for a rental, they have your permission to search your credit. It is a common part of all applications. even an emplyer may pull an emplyment credit report upon application for a job.
Video rental stores, movie theaters etc.
No, car rental companies do not have the legal right to check your credit without your explicit "written" consent. They can only charge to your credit card. They also have no right to do a background check. That said, many car rental companies will provide you with a form for you to sign, giving them written consent to check your credit history, especially if you are not from the agency's local area.
Yes, you can still get an apartment with a very low credit score but you may be required to pay a higher security deposit on top of your initial rental payment. You can also search on Craigslist for renters who may not be doing any credit checks.
Credit checks are performed by companies with legal contracts with the reporting agencies Any one can hire such a company and get a credit report. The person or company cannot provide the details of the report to you. If you have bad credit and know it ....fix it! there are thousands of companies and Attorney's that will assist you many are not for profit so they would be cheaper, make sure you check them thru BBB. To sit on bad credit is stupid , it is costing you money in higher interest, loss of better jobs, credit cards with lower interest, and much more
this is so that the person renting the car does not take off without paying, this is their insurance
From experience I can tell you that the easiest way to find a rental is to go through a rental agency. Yes they have a fee for service but paying that usually gets you a list of apartments many of which either do a credit check through the rental agency also there are usually places that don't require an application fee so you save money both ways. It's all about choosing the right places on the list.
The average credit score of rental applicants in the United States is about 680 to about 700. This is actually the average credit score for most Americans.
A credit report will carry a lot of weight for rental housing applicants depending on the rental agency. Many times a credit report will determine the amount of deposit needed to rent the property.
