Think about the name "carbohydrates." It tells us that there is Carbon and Hydrogen in it. We also know that there are Oxygen atoms in it. Therefore, knowing that the definition of "biochemistry" deals with all compounds that have Carbon atoms in it, we know that, while not all biochem has to do with carbohydrates, all carbohydrates have to do with biochem.
