diffusion
oxygen, carbon dioxide, and water molecules
Gas exchange occurs through the process of diffusion. Oxygen passes from areas of high concentration in the environment to lower concentration in the cell, while carbon dioxide passes from the cell to the environment. This is facilitated by the phospholipid bilayer of the cell membrane.

Carbon dioxide is exhaled
The gas that passes from the bloodstream into the lungs is called carbon dioxide. Carbon dioxide is transported from the tissues to the lungs via the bloodstream, where it is exhaled out of the body during respiration.
The carbon dioxide will move in because if the amount of carbon dioxide fluid is greater outside the cell then the carbon dioxide will diffuse in so that the amount of carbon dioxide inside and outside of the cell will be an equillibrium
