Some notable tolerationists are Roger Williams, who founded the colony of Rhode Island, John Locke who drafted the Fundamental Constitutions of Carolina, and William Penn who drew up the constitution of Pennsylvania.
The Fundamental Constitution of Carolina was written by John Lock in 1669. It replaced the Charter of Carolina and the Concessions and Agreements of the Lords Proprietors of the Province of Carolina.
