In October 1901, he joined the other leaders of the Republic in the mass surrender to the Americans which brought the war in Cebu formally to an end. He died at the early age of 54 on November 30, 1930 leaving behind a family that has remained prominent to this day. Ordinance No. 1467 has named a street in honor of Pantaleon del Rosario. It is on this street where you will find the University of San Carlos, the oldest university in the Philippines.
