On the inboard lights, take off the licence plate and stick your arm, if it is small enough, up and to the port or starboard side. rotate the housing counter clockwise, pull it out, and remove and replace the light. On the outboard lights, stick your arm up between the muffler and the rear quarter panel on either side and use the same procedure as on the inboard lights. This is the proper way, but after breaking one out board light, mashing the rest of the bulb, and blowing a fuse, I let my mechanic do it. He also has smaller arms and can get in easier.

I have a 1988 and I answered in this forum before about changing the tail light and I think it is the same with the 85, The problem is the space is so small the average person's arm will not fit to get at the light. I used my 14 year old son whose are was alot thinner than mine and he was able to reach up and change the bulb. He had to squeeze his arm up until he could reach it it is a very tight spot.
