Characteristics and attributes about God the Father(assuming you are referring to the Judeo-Christian deity) can be found throughout The Bible though most notably n the Psalms of the Old Testament as these are the book expressing emotion. Job and Exodus are also worthy of considerable note

The Christian God has many attributes. He is Just to name a few:

All knowing- he knows everything, from how many grains of sand are on the beach to how far away the most distant star is from your house.

All Powerful, Everlasting, Loving, Immutable, Omnipresent

In a word 'love' (see 1 John 4:8). But He is also righteous and perfect (see Psalm 11:7, 1 Peter 1:15-16, and Matthew 5:48) gracious and full of compassion (Psalm 145:8, Ephesians 2:8 and 1 Timothy 6:17 to mention just three here), slow to anger (Nehemiah 9:17).

The Hebrew word used often referring to the primary characteristics of God is 'hesed' which has no single English equivalent though most often it is defined as 'mercy,' merciful kindness,' or loving kindness as in Psalm 103:4).

The God of the Bible is a God of Justice:
