Absolutely. As a child, I had various chores to do around the house from the time I was six years old. This helps the child to structure his/her time around the home. There is lots more to life than electronic games, email and the internet.

As an adult, I still do lots of those same chores because my children are grown up now and moved away.

Yes. At a much younger age than this children can learn responsibility by being entrusted with certain jobs suitable to their age and ability. Life is a team effort and the sooner they learn to take their part in work to be done, the easier it will be to adapt to the adult world.
