This is a major problem for most Cirrus models, and thousands of owners have complained. The best website to get info on this issue is

It could be a compo of the following:
EGR valve, PCM, crankshaft sensor, camshaft sensor, fuse box, electronic distributor.
You will find all the recalls on this website that helped me before I invested in a 1998 Cirrus. You will note that this issue with the car shutting down is not easily found and will not give a standard error code when a mechanic runs it through their computer, therefore you may pay for unnecessary repairs. It is most likely crankshaft sensor or camshaft sensor, as they work together. If one shuts down, they can't communicate and therefore it shuts the car down until the connection is found again. The EGR valve contributes to hard or rough start, and will probably indicate the beginning of the stalling issues to come. Also, oil leaks can develop at cam sensor, causing the malfuctioning, and some will say you need a new head gasket.
Chrysler Cirrus was created in 1995.
Engine, 4.5 Transmission, 9
How do i remove the anti theft system on my 1995 Chrysler Cirrus?
The engine will not run with a failed distributor.
Yes, it should.
The Chrysler Cirrus was only built from 1995-2000. The radiator cap is located on the housing where the upper radiator hose hooks to the engine.
Center front of the engine, just above the oil pan.
There are no reset switches on a Chrysler Cirrus.
The Chrysler Cirrus did not come out until 1995. You reset the check engine light with a scan tool or by unhooking the battery. If you have not repaired the cause of the code the light will come back on.
Engine, bottom rear of oil pan. Transmission, does not have one.
Chrysler does not have reset buttons.
I just bought a 1995 Chrysler Cirrus with 100,000km (60,000 miles?) and I'm getting 27 mpg
