Depends on their ages. She's 40 and he's 20 - that would be hard to make it work. She is old enough to be his mom. At 20, he wants to be active and do things. At 40, she's already done stuff and wants to settle down to a quiet life. People can say cruel things and make fun of her. It would work better if she's 50 and he's 30. Or they are both older. Always harder when you're more than ten years apart.
