It would be proper to say that Constantine contributed nothing to Christianity. He was responsible for the finding of Catholicism which has only damaged Christianity.

Did the roman emperor Constantine start the christian church?

Jesus Christ started the Christian Church and through his apostles Christianity spread across the Roman world and into Asia. Peter, an apostle, founded the Roman church through his visits to Italy during the 1st Century, AD. However, beginning with the Roman Emperor, Nero, in the 1st Century, Christians across the Roman world were persecuted off and on for hundreds of years. Constantine, early in the 4th Century, AD, was the first of many Christian Emporers. He lifted the persecution of Christianity and established it as an accepted religion in the Roman Empire. Constantine's rule was the turning point for the Roman Empire government acceptance of Christianity. Under his reign, the Roman Church became a major force in the spread of Christianity throughout the Roman world. The Church at Rome and New Rome (Constantinople) received the favor of the Emperor during this time. The Church at Rome has become known as the Roman Catholic Church, while the Church at Constantinople, originally united with the Church at Rome, has become known as the Eastern Orthodox Church. Note: the term "Catholic" means "Christian" in today's language.

How did Constantine directly influence and support the Christian faith?

To quell the political turmoil growing in his religiously divided empire, Constantine attempted to pull people together by 'blending' all the religions into one state religion, thus, he thought, removing causes for division. Thus "Christendom began with the Emperor Constantine"(Malcolm Muggeridge in his book The End of Christendom).Because of the history of Constantine and his behavior (himself incriminated in the murder of no less than seven close friends and relatives), many feel that he did NOT 'support' the Christian faith, but rather 'influenced' it by developing a state religion, which incorporated pagan, secular and Christian ideas into one, disguised as "Christianity." (Acts 20:29, 30; 2Peter 2:1-3; 1John 2:18, 19)If Constantine did anything, he blurred the lines of truth, creating a religious organization that became fully involved in the world, in direct opposition to Jesus teaching(John 18:36). Those who followed the true teachings of Jesus Christ would be 'objects of hatred' because of their adherence to Christ's teachings(Matthew 10:22), but with Constantine's support, Christendom's religion became the official State religion of Rome. "Christian bishops, once targets for arrest, torture, and execution, now received tax exemptions, gifts from the imperial treasury, prestige, and even influence at court; their churches gained new wealth, power, and prominence." (Elaine Pagels, professor of religion). Because of the foregoing, it is felt by many that Constantine's Christendom had become 'friends of the world'.-James 4:4.

Where did the early christians worship?

AnswerArchaeologists believe they have found the world's oldest church in northern Jordan. If tests confirm that it dates back to between AD33 and AD70, it would make it the earliest known place of Christian worship by about 200 years. This find suggests that larger Christian communities already had formal places of worship even in the middle of the first century CE.It seems more common for the early Christians to worship in house churches, if only because of the cost of constructing and maintaining dedicated churches. By the third century, the Christian Church was becoming quite prosperous, and formal churches began to replace the house churches. In the fourth century, Constantine constructed numerous grand churches on the basilica model.

What are the results of Constantine converting to Christianity?

A number of results followed Constantine's alleged conversion: Firstly, persecution of Christians ceased. Secondly, Christianity, although not yet a state religion received a degree of encouragement from Constantine. Thirdly, following from the above came a degree of damage to the Christian ideals of separation from the world. People now flocked into the Christian churches who possibly were so in name only and seeking to win royal rather than God's favor. Fourthly, also following from the second point above, Constantine himself, despite a clear lack of knowledge of both Christian behavior and attitudes, interfered in various doctrinal discussions. Despite his earlier assistance at the council of Nicea, he later accepted Arius and favored him, despite Aruis' clear heresy. Fifthly, as far as Constantine himself is concerned, his behavior was ever that of a secular prince, although outwardly professing Christian conversion. He committed murder and other evils after his alleged conversion. He retained the title of pontifex maximus, the highest position of the former state idolatrous religion. Constantine's decision to leave baptism to his death bed, in clear violation of Christian doctrine (although some undoubtedly taught this false idea to him), indicates his failure to understand true Christianity and his continued reliance on ritual rather than the blood of Christ and an inner change of the heart for salvation. This event indicates a decline from apostolic doctrine and practice, a decline which his patronage undoubtedly strengthened.

What were the circumstances that led to the emergence of Christianity as a world religion?

Without Constantine's decision to adopt Christianity as the religion of empire, Christianity might have remained a minor religion in the Roman Empire. Without Constantine being followed by ruthless Christian successors as emperors, his establishment of Christianity in a favoured position in the empire could have fallen away, as former pagans who became Christians for political and financial advantage returned to their traditional faiths. It was the dynastic succession of Constantine that provided the circumstances for Christianity to become a world religion.
