Pressure test system to determine where leak originates
Only if the sensor is malfunctioning.
That means the engine is running HOT. Need to check the coolant level and check for coolant leaks.
How To Find & Fix Coolant Leaks http://www.aa1car.com/library/coolant_leaks.htm
The heat is not working because you are very low on coolant, probably because of the leak. Seems to me that it should leak worse when it is running, so I am going to assume you are talking about the coolant overflowing the reservoir, in which case goes back to you being low on coolant and the engine boiling the coolant.
Probably the thermostat is sticking.
Not enough coolant is running through the system chek for leaks and chek your heater core
Fluids in a vehicles must be maintained to keep it running well. Coolant leaks because there is a crack somewhere, a tube is torn, or the clamp is too loose.
it sounds like your coolant over flow tank is leaking. it is a common problem with these cars. might also check your radiator for leaks or your exhaust for coolant, but if there is coolant in your exhaust that would mean blown heads
Clean the engine and check it again while its hot and running. Maybe the thermostat gasket? I fixed one of these yesterday. Rubber gasket had swollen and torn. Coolant tends to evaporate where it leaks, so you'll only have a puddle if the leak is big. Small leaks tend to stop when the motor is not running, since the water pump increases the pressure in the block significantly.
You may have a bad head gasket and it may be leaking from that. Why when cold i dont know, but if you are losing coolant it may be the head gasket.
It leaks coolant.
The coolant leaks out.
