No. This violates both religions. One tenet of almost every religion is that the religion must not be changed.

The Bible even provides a penalty (in the last chapter of the last book) for anyone trying to change it.

Posted by jrnjames: It's not Logical that religions cannot be changed, when new evidence is recognized.

Posted by MidiMagic: Religion is based on belief, not logic or evidence.

But in the case of Christianity, there are no contradictions between Biblical beliefs and the evidence produced by real science. Only where bad science has been used is there any contradiction.

- The earth circling the sun is not a violation of any Christian tenet. Catholic belief used to accept Aristotle as fact. Aristotle believed in impetus physics and a geocentric universe conceived by Ptolemy. But Aristotle is not a Christian source.

- There is nothing in the Scriptures that requires the earth to be only a few thousand years old. There is no time period given between the time of creation and the time when man fell and became mortal.

- Evolution is not proved science, but only a theory.

- Homosexuality is not hereditary. Bad science was used to "prove" hereditary homosexuality.
