I'm not sure if it is the amp. My zx2 has 236055 miles on it and my amp still works. If I were you i'd check the fuse, (i'm sure you've tried that already) but that was my problem when i had my car rewired my audio fuse was blown. Good luck.
The Pontiac Montana does not come with a factory installed amp in the sound system. The wiring goes directly from the radio to the speakers.
Hi, if you amp up you factory car speakers you could blow them up because in most vehicles that Ive owned, they are less than 100 watts unless they are concert sound, then they might be able to be amped but the concert sound ones are already amp just like you stock ones (which are perfectly amp for that speaker). So technically i would not amp them unless you want to replace them with aftermarket speakers. so no it would not improve sound quality.
if your car has a factory amp you might have to mess around with the factory remote wire(this is what tells the amp to turn on) good luck
== == It is the factory amp that is bad. Either get a new factory amp, or rerun the wires direct
bypass the factory amp
if you have the Bose system you might need to hook up the aftermarket amp wire to the factory amp
splice the blue amp wire on the harness to the power wire, your car came with a factory amp. that will give you sound.
The factory amp is located in the rear of the truck right behind the factory sub,
