The answer is yes,i had mine for a year before i had to send a fax. all i know is a fax could'nt be sent unless i connected the cable between the dial up port at the back of the computer to the phone socket in the house,i was told it is because i could not use the fax via broadband. well that was what i was told & now it works ok. Hope this helps.
Uninstall all you all in one printer. Install again using add/remove hardware. Before installing remove first your dsl modem and make sure you only connected to fax modem.

Fax modem is modem than enables computer to send and received faxes. It can be internal and external.
DECREASE THE TRANSMISSION SPEED OF THE FAX MODEM The modem of the printer can transmit data at 33,600 bps. This is the maximum speed at which the printer can send and receive faxes. It is not necessary, however, to set the modem to its fastest transmission capability. The speed of the modem of the receiving fax machine must match or be greater than the speed at which you are sending your fax. Otherwise, your fax will not be received. To decrease the transmission speed of the modem: 1 From the printer control panel, navigate to Max Send Speed: > Fax Setup > Dialing and Sending > Max Send Speed 2 Select a sending speed, and then save the setting.
Not yet! I haven't figured out how.
In all likelihood the driver for the Fax Modem has not yet been installed.
