Normally a rusty rotor would not make a grinding noise. A grinding noise from the brakes usually indicated that the pads or shoes are worn down.
Pads are worn down Rotors are rusty and scoured Dirt and grit have been trapped between pads and rotors
You probably have rusty/scored brake rotors.
The Brakes inside of the wheel could be rusty in the back and cuz some Grinding sounds, or the Transmission is Wet and Rusty which can also make a Grinding sound, If it happens to your Car, Notify me at lil_carbon@hotmail.com, u need to tell me your car if u need help.... if u dont and its just a Random Question, dont add me lol but really, ill help
It makes a rustling noise.
NO. The rotors will rust overnight if the conditions are right. The rust will be removed the first time the brakes are applied. Yes if the rust has pitted them. Just have them turned on a brake lathe.
If you have a bad rotor, when you turn a corner sharply it will make a humming noise kind of a wah wah wah (if you will). If you have it apart, the bearing would probably look visibly worn, rusty, dry, ground down etc. Hope this helped.
No as long as the plunger moves freely. The rotors can look rusty have a few days of sitting in damp environment.
It depends the level of rust and degradation but yes usually minor rust is available to fix with a liquid which decreases rust and the things associated.
I have the same feeling! like if its a rusty heart grinding against something. Ive been telling people this since I was a young teenager and still to this day they look at me like I'm crazy. Id LOVE for an answer! Please!
You can buy 'Silent Spinner'; i know they are sold at petco. they make almost no noise and really are silent. the difference is that its plastic; it doesnt get rusty like metal wheels do.
Sure, it can be done by somebody who rides the brake. It can also happen if you didn't turn the rotors and just pad slapped it instead of doing a proper brake job. It could also happen if your rotors have gotten rusty from sitting. I left my Mustang sit for a year and a half. It had good brakes before but the rotors rusted so badly that the pads only lasted about 2000 miles before I was metal to metal.
Check where this rusty water is coming from. There are many possible causes.
