You could just unhook your negative battery cable.
You will need to take your vehicle to the dealership to reset the airbag light on an Ibiza. However, you could try to disconnect the battery, sometimes that will reset it.
Carburator malfuntion, is your first reason. Could be several reasons: linkage problems, fuel flow problem, malfunction internally in the carb. Jets dirty, etc.
If there is not a specific keyed switch to do this installed in your vehicle YOU SHOULD NOT TAMPER WITH YOUR AIRBAG! If you are removing the airbag assembly you should ensure that the battery is disconnected and there is no power of any kind running to the electrical system of the vehicle. The consequences of jerking around with an airbag could be fatal. TAKE THE CAR TO THE DEALER!
You could always unplug it but the airbag light would stay on. To fix that you could remove the bulb from your cluster. WARNING: while doing any tampering with airbag circuits etc. make sure to disconnect your car battery. Failure to do so could cause inflation of the airbag which would damage your dash. -Dalisword-

You could if the battery was not sealed but what would be the reason for doing this? Electrolyte does not wear out.
It could be broken, or the battery may be dead.
Best to unplug it and then disconnect it from the battery. Reason being is that if you disconnect it from the battery first you will create a spark. That spark could ignite any fumes from the battery.

You can't disable the airbag on the driver side. You could remove the airbag.
