"Ma'am" is consider a disrespectful word, to an insecure middle or old age woman, whom have seen her youth and beauty drift away. Someone full of age-complex and inner sadness. So next time a woman asks you not to call them ma'am, apologize and run away from her. Clearly she is someone full of tragic issues in her inside. And of course, feel sad for her.
