Possible electrical problem
replace the head light switch. the coils in the switch get hot n turn off the lights.
the same nob u turn ur headlights on with u jus twiest it to the left n it turns them up, n also turns up ur dash lights.
on the left thing that sticks out of your steering wheel.. the one that controls the wiper blades n such.. turn your lights on n then pull it back towards to n click it on.. to turn it off do the same.
There is a knob on your dashboard that you can turn to set the brightness of your dash lights and interior lights. If you have this knob turned all the way down, the interior light will not come on when you open the doors, and your dashboard lights will be dark. If this is not the solution to your problem, look for a blown fuse in your fuse box.
Those lights stay on when the abs computer detects a malfunction and sets a code.
and then?

On a 2001 Ford Crown Victoria : If you have the overdrive switched off using the transmission control switch on the end of your gear selector lever ( P R N etcetera ) You will see the " O/D OFF " light above and to the right of your speedometer and if you have the digital dash it will show " overdrive off " to the right of the speed indicator
