A deficiency in calcium is rather rare in a dangerous form, whereas a approximately 75% of US peoples are deficient in magnesium. A deficiency of magnesium will noticeable cause cramping, muscle "twitching," "charlie horses," Heart disease, and even heart attacks. A deficiency in Iodine can damage your thyroid and ultimately your pancreas which can cause hypoglycemia, hyperglycemia, and even Diabetes. There is no such thing as a fluoride deficiency, any level of fluoride is toxic (according to the FDA). Also a deficiency of phosphorous is rare. Men almost never are deficient of iron, although women loose enough blood that they can suffer from a loss of iron. A deficiency of sodium-chloride can cause a loss of stomach acid, acid reflux, and indigestion. Magnesium is rare in most foods (this is why there are so many defficiencies), but foods like almonds, peanuts, and natural peanut butters are rich in magnesium. I would recommend a magnesium supplement equal to or greater than the amount calcium you take. Calcium cannot be digested easily from milk since it is bound-up with too much phosphorous, and can only be digested in the amount of phosphorous you require, which is relatively low. Iodine is practically only found in kelp, ocean raised fish, and in slight amounts in Iodized salt. Iodine deficiencies can also be caused by fluorine, chlorine, an bromine (used to bleach white flour). The best way to increase your intake of minerals is avoid foods that have none. In other words quite eating junk food. Avoid sugar, corn syrup, white flour (even enriched white flour), and anything processed. They will leach minerals from your body and not give anything back.
