To turn off DOS mode, find the spot to type a command (if there is one) and type exit.
Most likely a problem with the RAM. No other option , you have to get it changed.
Try to start last working version... If you laptop (netbook) is having problems to start in Safe Mode there is not much you can do... One of things you can do is to load the system in command line mode and see where it stops. And go from there...

I've been trying to get an old Xerox WorkCentre XD120f to work with my computer. I've tried using Compatibility mode to install the drivers, but to no avail - once i get through the warnings about uninstalling previous drivers, the program closes itself and nothing happens. What do I do? Using Dell Inspiron with Windows 8.1.
