William Urton was an Ironmonger with premises at 7, West Bars at Park Road, Chesterfield, Derbyshire. His was in business at least in the first quarter of the 20th. century. He sold guns with his name on although they were made for him in the Birmingham trade. He also sold cartridges which depicted the 'crooked spire' which is a well known landmark in Chesterfiels where the church spire has a definite spiral twist.

284 is the bullet diameter and in the US can be a 7mm. Cartridge would be a 284 Winchester and it would depend on the maker and type of rifle you buy.
