Best Answer

Many fish reproduce sexually. The male fish will insert a part of his body into the female fish in order to fertilize her eggs. In some cases, the male fish will spread semen on the eggs after they leave the body of the female.

It all depends on the type of fish. But basically there are two types, spawning and live bearers. Spawning fish lay eggs, and fertilize them externally. Live-bearers develop the eggs within themselves, are fertilized internally, and give birth to live young.

The female fish lays her eggs. Then the male comes and spreads his sperm across her clutch of eggs. This process is called Oviparous.
