a group of eggs will start to mature in the beginning of day 0 of the menstrual cycle (menstrual phase - bleeding occurs), by day 14 only one cell will mature enough into a "mature follicle" (FSH hormone help the egg mature) in that day there will be a rise in a hormone called (LH hormone) which will lead to the ovulation of the egg (oocyte in medical terms), ovulation is when the egg leaves the ovary (the egg was inside the cortex of the ovary).
after ovulation the egg will enter the fallopian tube (with the aid of the fimbriae - a finger like structure at the edge of the tube) the egg will move inside the tube toward the uterus , the tube has many regions , the widest of all is called the ampulla of the fallopian tube, inside the ampulla the sperm of the man will meet the egg and fertilize it, this will happen during the first 24 hours after ovulation because the unfertilized egg can live only 24 hours outside the ovary, the fertilized egg will divide during the next 6 days developing from a single fertilized egg (zygote) to a morula (mass of 8 cells) and then to a blastocyte, after a journey of almost 6 days the egg which has now become a blastocyte will reach the uterus, there it will implant and continue maturation
HOPE THIS HELPS =)
the journey must be a really slow journey.
ur ugly
It implants into the uterine lining and begins its long journey to becoming a baby!
When an egg is not fertilized it continues its journey through the fallopian tube and enters the uterus but does not implant. The egg will be expelled from the uterus during the next period of menstruation.
