Yes, his name was Edwin Earhart, his job made it difficult for the family to stay in one place making so they were constantly moving, by the time Amelia was 16 her parents divorced due to Edwin's bad drinking problem.

I believe you may be referring to the l904 St. Louis Fair. Amelia would have been seven years of age at this time. The only other (World"s fair) in this period was the l9l5 Panama Pacific exposition in San Francisco that had big technical exhibits ( as the Panama Canal was then spanking new!) She would have been in her twenties, then, these were big time Fairs and not in any sense kiddy carnivals, though they had kiddy ride sections.

Unconfirmed. It is understood her father, a purchasing agent for the ATSF railroad ( this may explain her predilection for Turquoise) was something of an alcoholic. He died around l935. Amelia"s mother, Amy Otis Earhart, survived untii l963, dying on Halloween of that year. Amelia was divorced from Mr. Putnam I believe in l935- the cause was never made public.

They were not. Daddy was a purchasing agent for the A.T.S.F. so was out of town on business a lot. separation angst- sure, divorce, no.

Amelia Earhart's younger sister Grace, passed away in her sleep on Monday, March 2, 1998 whilst living in Massachusetts. She was 98 years old.
