Most Americans did not want to fight in Korea. It is very cold in the winter and not a pleasant place to fight even if you like to fight. People were drafted to fight there.

The idea of the war probably had more support than did the the action in Vietnam, but the people were happy when Eisenhower promised to end it.

When it first started people thought it would not last long, but then China entered on the North Korean side so it dragged on and on.
