It isn't known whether this is true, but it is generally accepted by historians that it was a fiction invented in order to find her guilty of incest (among other offences, possibly also contrived) in order for King Henry VIII to legally have her executed in order to remarry. The French queen, Marie Antoinette, in the absence of other evidence against her, suffered similar prosecution; in her case it involved her young son. While we'll never know the truth of these allegations, the consensus is generally that they were politically motivated fictions designed to result in a queen losing her head.
