As far as I know, they didn't marry. Zues and Hera were married. Hera became angered to find out Zues had gotten with Leto per say and demanded the birth of the twins (Apollo and Artemis) could not happen on the mainland or the island. However, the island "disobeyed" Hera and it happened anyway.
