The Celtic society depended on its cattle, sheep and pigs. It is difficult to fine evidence of chicken bones in the archeological digs, but because of the chicken's food to product (meat or eggs or feathers) ratio, it's ability to keep down insect numbers, and it's ability to fend for itself in all but the extremes of weather, it is thought that there was certainly a place for chickens on the Celtic farm.
