A martyr is someone who dies for a cause, imprisonment does not make somebody a martyr.
Hanging people will not solve terrorism. Those that are hung will become martyrs to the cause and it will only cause more people to replace them and try to avenge their deaths. So it can actually make things worse sometimes.

The primary cause of the Crusades was for the Christians to win back the "Holy Land."
because it only takes once to cause accidents that kill people.
When Rueben states that "martyrs are such fools," he is likely expressing a critical perspective on individuals who sacrifice their lives or well-being for a cause. This suggests that he views their actions as misguided or unnecessary, believing that their ultimate sacrifice does not lead to meaningful change or recognition. Rueben's comment may also reflect a cynical attitude towards idealism and the costs associated with unwavering devotion to a cause.

To answer a question we need a who, where, when, what, or how. This question really requires a time.
This is not only for Christians but for everyone. :) First, you need to choose a cause. Examples are helping homeless dogs and cats and kids with cancer. There are TONS of other things you can do! Look some up on the Internet. Next you need to choose how you want to help. For example, you could raise a puppy to become a guide dog to help handicaps. Or you could train a dog to become a therapy dog to help sick children, adults, and the elderly. Of course, there is MUCH more you can do. Make sure you look up websites on search engines. Thanks for being interested! :)
The obvious answer here is Jesus, since the entire religion is based around him. However, the growth of the religion after his crucifixion is largely due to his disciples. They spread the word to as many people as they could. A lot of their success was due to the fact that Christianity was different than any other religion before, offering forgiveness, a loving savior, and no requirement of perfection. Also, all of the 12 disciples except for one were killed for their faith. Martyrs are an incredible help to a cause. People began to wonder what the religion was all about if so many were willing to die for it. Through history, some rulers have encouraged Christianity (such as Constantine) while others have been out to kill Christians (Emperor Nero, for example) but the martyrs of Christianity have always played the most important role in the religion's growth.
