∙ 14y agoNo. Columbus did not discover a new continent in October 1492. He discovered an island in the Bahamas. He would not discover the Continent of South America until his fourth voyage when he visited present day Colombia and Venezuela. He never visited North America. Most of his discoveries involved the Greater and Lesser Antilles.
