yes because i researched it an Columbus did realized >>>>>>:D
Christopher Columbus believed that he had sailed all the way to the East Indies, probably somewhere near the islands we now call Malaysia. He didn't realize that he had only sailed less than halfway to Asia.
The four continents Columbus was unaware of were North America, South America, Australia, and Antarctica. Columbus mistakenly believed he had reached Asia when he landed in the Caribbean islands.
The continent Christopher Columbus think he reached is Asia.
Asia
Columbus thought he had reached India (which is a country in the continent of Asia) but in reality he had landed on Caribbean Islands (North America). (this is why Native Americans are called Indians).
Asia
Yes. In 1492 Columbus sailed across the Atlantic Ocean with three boats, the Santa Maria, the Pinta, and the Nina. He and his crew were trying to find India. Where he landed was what we now call the United States of America.
Columbus reached the Bahamas thinking it was Asia. Vikings reached the USA ana Canada 1st.
West.
asia
The goal for the first voyage of Christopher Columbus was to reach the West Indies.
Columbus called these islands the Indiesbecause he thought he had finally reached Asia (and the East Indies). Spain, when Columbus' mistake was discovered, (pardon the pun) renamed them the West Indies, to distinguish them from the Spice Islands in the Pacific Ocean, (the East Indies) which we now call Indonesia.
