In a way, yes. Gandhi could stop an entire war just by threatening to starve himself to death. Even of both enemies hated each other, they would stop a war to please Gandhi. Gandhi wanted to unite East and West Pakistan. Those who didn't saw Gandhi as an obstacle, so they assassinated him.

at the end Gandhi was shot while he was going to prayer by an Hindu man. when he was going that man came and touched his feet, and the women standing beside Gandhi said he was getting late for prayer and then that man shoved her aside and shot Gandhi in his head more then once. that man was to be hanged for killing Gandhi. nobody knows why he shot Gandhi, but all i know was that Gandhi was assassinated.
