Well...I don't believe that I can give you the correct answer for that because that would be a question that only George Washington could correctly answer, but in my guess I think that he did enjoy it.
I have to agree with Cherry above, but historical accounts indicate that while he appeared to enjoy his many military roles, he was a very reluctant president and was more or less coerced into the role that no one else seemed suitable for at the time. If anything, he probably wished that Alexander Hamilton would have taken it, had he not disfavored himself with the public by being a bit loose moraled (at least for the time), and had he not got himself killed in a dual. Then again, who knows?
