There were rumors that a plant Norway was making "heavy water" for the Nazis. This form of water is used in the making of nuclear bombs. But Europe's Allies smuggled a bomb on the ship carrying the heavy water to the plant in Norway, and the ship, along with the heavy water, was sunk, ending Germany's nuclear program.
