According to The Bible, the planet earth was not destroyed. The scripture at 2 Peter 3:5-7 tells us "the world that then existed was deluged with water and perished."(ESV) That is, the 'world' of wicked people, perished. (Genesis 6:5-8). Genesis 6:12+17 tells us " ...So God looked upon the earth, and indeed it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted their way on the earth...And behold, I Myself am bringing floodwaters on the earth, to destroy from under heaven all flesh in which is the breath of life; everything that is on the earth shall die. "(NIV)
There was nothing wrong with the literal 'earth', the soil, rocks, air.... but with the violence on it, promoted by wicked people(Genesis 6:11). Though alot of the animal life died as a consequence, it was primarily the wicked people, and their unrighteous ways, that were destroyed during the flood of Noahs' day. Matthew 24:37-39 tells us that the same kind of destruction will take place in OUR day, as back in Noah's day....the destruction of 'the wicked people'. The planet earth was given to mankind as a gift(Psalms 115:16) and will last forever(Psalm 104:5/Isaiah 45:18).

According to the Holy Bible, all life on earth perished in the flood, except for those on the Ark which landed on the Mountainsof Ararat in Turkey!

Since there is no archaeological proof of Noah's Ark, the only places that we could look to find an answer would be the Bible of the Qur'an. Neither describes people destroying Noah's Ark. Since the Ark would now be over 5000 years old, it would have long ago deteriorated due to natural causes as it was wood and wood rots.
