No. Despite Henry's quarrel with the Pope, Henry never considered himself a Protestant, in fact he wrote a book against Luther called in Defence of the Seven Sacrements for which he received the title of 'Defender of the Faith' (A title still used by British Monarchs to this day).

He wanted a divorce to his wife Catherine of Argon and when the pope would not grant him this, he left the church. He supported Martin Luther so he could get away from the Catholic Church, and eventually start the Church of England where he was in charge, instead of the pope

Henry VIII and Martin luther had helped in the reformation. Henry VIII had his own profit in this, he wanted to divorce Catherine of Aragon so he could marry Anne Boleyn. Martin Luther did not approve what the church was doing; which was quite obvious. The people were told that if they bought indulgences then they would have a plave in heaven which was wrong so Martin Luther wrote the 95 theses.
