Eastern Europe is 'poorer' than western europe, during the war they were helpless and were taken over by Germany or the Soviets, with the fall of both empires countries taken by Hitler and Stalin suffered and were left to fend for themselves. The countries in the East have started to pick themselves up in the recent decades and they each support their neighbours, places like Azerbaijan are not as poor any more and it fact some of the more developed cities can be found in Eastern Europe.
The Mongols were never able to expand to Western Europe, the farthest west they could get was Eastern Europe.
Hitler's plan was to conquer 'living space' for Germans in Eastern Europe. He wanted Jews out from the Eastern Europe and he also wanted the Slav population reduced. NO ACTUALLY HE WANTED LIVING SPACE FOR THE ARYAN RACE.
WWI was fought all over Europe. It spanned from western Europe, including France, Germany, and Italy, to the Balkans (the powder keg of Europe) and into Eastern Europe.
Before the outbreak of World War Two, it was clear that Germany's rivals, or said, "enemies" were the powers of Eastern Europe, mainly England and France. This was clearly defined in September of 1939, when Hitler invaded Poland. As per the secret policies in the 1939 Soviet-German Non Aggression Pact, the USSR was now an ally and took over the eastern half of Poland. Once that was complete, Hitler focused on Western Europe and basically conquered France and other small states in western Europe. Here are several differences between the two unholy invasions and the two unholy allies.1. Western Europe feared that a German invasion would take place;2. They and Poland understood that Hitler had bad intentions towards them;3. The invasion of the Soviet Union by Hitler was a "surprise attack" against a so-called ally.
There is migration all over Europe and in every part. However, Western Europe tends to have more immigration (people moving in) versus Eastern Europe, who tends to have more emigration (people moving out).
The prevailing winds of the west are what generally bring wet weather to Europe. It first crosses over Western Europe, dropping most of its rain there. By the time it reaches Eastern Europe, there is less rainfall.
Italy took over the eastern side but then the chatolics took it back again.

The Roman Empire had extended its control over Western Europe
Eastern Europe has many ethnic and religious tensions that have been fueled by conflicts over history. Eastern Europe is in peace today, although nowhere near as peaceful as its counterpart, Western Europe. For example, there are still disputes over sovereignty, such as Kosovo declaring independence with Serbia still claiming sovereignty over the region. Another example is that Belarus, an Eastern European nation, is the last remaining dictatorship in Europe, and is looked down upon by many other European nations. Despite all these tensions, no wars are currently under siege in Eastern Europe, which is a good sign.
