If you are referring to Islam as a political institution, then "No". The Rashidun (Rightly-Guided) Caliphate conquered Egypt in 640 C.E. This was a military invasion that resulted in numerous battles led by Rashidun General 3amr ibn al--3as, who was one of Muhammad's Sahaba (Apostles). If you are referring to Islam as a religion, then the answer is, "Partially". The Rashidun, Umayyad, and Abbassid Caliphate successively imposed unequal positions on citizens based on whether they were Muslims or Ahl ad-Dhimma (the People Under the Protection of Islam). As a result of these legal inequalities, many people converted to Islam to gain advantage of these benefits. These conversions were not forced, i.e. nobody was holding a sword to a person's throat and demanding conversion, but the economic and political coercion was very damaging to Egypt's majority Christian population, resulting in the country becoming majority Muslim within only three centuries of conquest.
