He is given credit for inventing the steam engine whereas he only improved it by pressurizing the steam so it would need less water. he made many other improvements too visit to http://www.spartacus.schoolnet.co.uk/SCwatt.htm learn more. Oddly enough I dont know if he invented the electrical term the watt. I think he helped creating it but died before it was finished. Oh and he coined the term horse power. If you read a few paiges on the internet it will tell you more things he helped build and created himself.
