It means that if the preacher does not do what he preaches, the people to whom he preaches will recognize his hypocrisy and not do what he says. They will recognize that he does not really believe what he is preaching about. In the positive sense a preacher who believes what he preaches and does it is a powerful witness to a life under the Lordship of Jesus Christ. example
