Did Jesus walk the earth for thirty days after He rose from the grave and what did He do during this time?

In Luke's Gospel, Jesus ascended into heaven on the evening of his resurrection from the grave (Luke 24:51), having met the disciples at a meal. In Acts of the Apostles, by the same author, the risen Jesus was on earth for forty days and showed himself alive by many infallible proofs (Acts 1:2-3).

Neither Matthew nor John says how long the risen Jesus was on earth, but in each case, thirty days would probably be appropriate to the things performed. In Matthew, he sent a message to the disciples to meet him in Galilee, where he did meet them in a mountain and gave instructions to preach his word. In John, he met the disciples twice in Jerusalem at a meal, then by the Sea of Galilee.

Mark originally ended at verse 16:8, with the young man telling the women that Jesus was risen, and they ran away telling no one. The "Long Ending" (verses 16:9-25) was added much later to provide resurrection appearances. The Long Ending more or less harmonises with Luke and has Jesus ascend to heaven shortly after his resurrection, probably on the same day.

After Jesus rose from the grave, He walked the earth for 40 days, not 30. During this time, He appeared to His disciples and followers, providing further teachings and instructions and demonstrating that He had truly conquered death before ascending to heaven.
