Did John Denver attend high school also in fort Walton beach Florida?

John Denver (Born Henry John Deutschendorf Jr., on December 31, 1943, in Roswell, New Mexico, to parents Henry John and Erma. ) attended Niceville High School which is in Okaloosa County and is slightly north of Fort Walton Beach. I'm not sure how long he was there, but my impression from other information I have collected is that it was for a short period, perhaps 1 year or even less. He graduated from Arlington Heights High School in Fort Worth, TX and I believe that would have been the class of 1960. His dad broke a world speed record at Eglin AFB in January 1961. I still haven't found any firm dates he attended NHS but I'm sure he did because I've heard about it since he became famous in the early 1970's. My neighbor, Mrs. Richardson, was a teacher at NHS for many years and told me that she taught him.
