King Narmer was in the time of the ancient Egyptians. He was the ruler of both the north and south sides of Egypt.
The Pharaoh King Narmer reigned in ancient Egypt sometime between the 30th and the 34th centuries BC. There is still a great deal of uncertainty about him, including exactly who he was and how long he reigned. It is also not know for sure how old he was when he died. Estimates are that he was about 30 to 40 years old at the time of his death.
Narmer was the first king of Egypt beginning in approx. 3100 BCE. At the time, the term was not pharaoh - this was originally the name of the palace of the Egyptian kings, eventually it just became synonymous.
