Lewis and Clark did value Bird Woman. She was instrumental in obtaining horses from her brother, Cameahwait, and the Lemhi Shoshoni tribe. She recognized landmarks in her home country that encouraged the Corps of Discovery that they were in the right country. She gathered food such a roots to give them a supplement of carbohydrates to their high protein diet.
Yes, she was the most valuable asset the expedition had.
Unless it's proof or uncirculated, 5 cents.
In the spring of 1805, the expedition set out again. At this time they were joined by Sacagawea, who was a Shoshone indian. Her languages---she knew sign language and several Native American languages--- and her knowledge of geogragphy would be of great value to Lewis and Clark. :D
Unless it's in proof or uncirculated condition, a Lewis and Clark nickel has no added value. Hundreds of millions were minted. The only reason you don't find many in change is that people saved them almost as soon as they were put into circulation.
The coin is still found in circulation and is face value
The US minted four different nickels to honor the Lewis and Clark expedition's bicentennial during 2004-2005. In circulated condition, none are worth more than face value.
Unless they are in uncirculated, BU, or proof condition they are only worth face value.
A Lewis and Clark nickel typically has a face value of 5 cents and is not considered rare or valuable in circulated condition. In uncirculated condition, it may have some numismatic value depending on its minting year and condition.
The woman on the front of the coin is not " Mother Mary" It's Sacagawea, the guide for the Lewis & Clark expedition and the coin is brass not gold. Value is one dollar.
There aren't any "Lois and Clark" nickels - Lois and Clark was a TV show about Lois Lane and Clark Kent (a/k/a Superman).Lewis and Clark nickels were minted in 2004 and 2005 to honor the bicentennial of the famous North American expedition led by Meriwether Lewis and William Clark. However they're not valuable; huge numbers were struck and almost all were saved as keepsakes, so any that you find in change are only worth 5 cents.
