Luke Chapter 1
Mother Mary's life is not similar to the life of Jesus Christ. Mother Mary life the life of a house wife as the wife of Joseph while Jesus Christ lived the life of a saint roaming around preaching the Good news. Jesus was constantly opposed and insulted by the Pharisees but Mary lead a relatively less pressurized life. Jesus Christ was tortured and killed but Mary died a normal death. Just a note to the above answer: Catholics believe that Mother Mary never died, she was assumed into heaven. Mary sacrificed her life and obeyed to God's every will. A small note on Catholic belief about Mary: As mentioned above Catholics do believe that Mother Mary as assumed into heaven. But this belief has no scriptural base. There is this many other stories that the Catholic Church intends to elevate Mary to a Godly state. Mother Mary was in all respect an ordinary lady but she need our atmost respect as she was chosen to be the Mother of Our Lord. She did suffer a lot on account of her son as would any mother for their son. She was as (seen in the Bible) a good wife to her husband who was blessed with other children. Joseph also need to be respected as he believed the Lord and took Mary as his wife. Our Mother was a good woman who realized who her son was and who gave Him the atmost respect and who even when sorrow pierced her heart never interfered with her son's work.
