What were the basic teachings of Mohammad?
He taught to only honor one God, Allah, and basically to respect all life, even infidels. In fact, most Muslims believe that Jesus is a major Prophet of Allah. Later in his life though, Mohammad's tribe was attacked, and his teachings started to become very violent. This is where the extremists find their justification for killing infidels.
