Because they tested it
Well acctully they are still looking for it.
They shot missiles at the moon because they wanted to see if they could find water in the moon, but unfortunately they could not find any water sources on or in the moon after the explosion happened. If my opinion counts, I honestly thought it was a very dumb idea. NASA only has about two more missions left. Their next mission is going to be building another building on the moon for communications from the moon to Earth.
When NASA landed on the moon, they found a number of things, including a colony or homosexuals and a herd of dinosaurs.
Late september.
I am not exactly sure about NASA and all of that. But, I know 12 men have walked on the moon.
water possibilities on moon

Well, we are not presicely sure that there is water on the moon, however, NASA sure is confident. They sent a probe, traveling at twice the speed as a bullet, to crash into the moon in late 2009 and see if water shot back away from the moon. There was a little water backblow, but they do not know the exact substance.

Not as far as we know.
Yes. . On 8 October 2009, NASA deliberately crashed an LCROSS satellite and its rocket into the moon, and observed the particulates that the crash ejected from the Moon's surface. In analyzing the spectroscopic properties of the ejected material, NASA was able to confirm that the particulate contained "significant" quantities of water.
As the moon is a baren place, they found moon rocks.
NASA is not crashing to satellites into the moon. Rather, They send two "observation satellites" to the moon and crashed a army grade missile into the moon at the south pole of the moon to find out if there was water/ice under the surface of the moon. The 2 satellites were there to observe what particles flew away from the moon after the explosion of the missile.
Yes because NASA Scientist is now founding life on Moon
