The Lord instructed his disciples at great length, letting them know the price for following him. They were prepared to be martyrs and none shirked from their fate. Numerous scriptures in the New Testament show this.
The bible doesn't have a story in it its more so that their are chapters in it with life lessons you should know. Also these chapters tell of Jesus with his birth all the way to his death and his resurrection that's in the New testament but it was told by his disciples. The old testament tells of law, history, poetry, and prophecy, the old testament was written before the birth of Christ
Not the Old Testament writers but Matthew, John, Peter, Jude, and James surely did. Perhaps Mark and Timothy as well. Luke and Paul did not personally travel with Him but may have seen Him.
This is not enumerated in the Bible. While the apostles are named and counted as 12, there are no references to how many disciples there were, although we do know they were not all men - the women were also disciples.
You know by practicing. Writers also read a lot, so they see how other writers do it. Don't worry about it so much -- just get started!
None of the 12 disciples, as far as we know, were pharisees. However, the apostle Paul, the writer of most of the New Testament letters, was a Pharisee before his dramatic conversion on the road to Damascus. He was tutored in Jewish Law by the rabbi known as Gamaliel, and an expert in Jewish Law.
The writers of all the New Testament books (with the possible exception of Hebrews) are known and most are Jewish. Only Luke is thought to not be Jewish, partly based on Colossians 4:10-14 where he is not included in the list of those of the circumcision even though with the others.
We know of from the Bible a couple of the trades of Jesus' disciples, and they were fishermen and there was also a tax collector (Matthew). Other than these trades we don't have much more information from the scriptures.
As far as I know the church was started by Paul in the new testament. And not in the old testament. At that time in the old testament they had the temple only. And Jesus also never did built a church in his life time.
To know if his disciples were truly devoted to him and his Father and not to the sinful ways of this world.
A:The New Testament gospels are attributed to Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, although those attributions were only made during the course of the second century. The New Testament gospels were originally anonymous, so we do not really know who wrote them. In particular, New Testament scholars say none of the gospels could have been written by an eyewitness to the events portrayed. Most of the gospels that are not found in the New Testament werealso attributed to various of the disciples and apostles, but it is most unlikely that any of these attributions is true.We do not know who wrote any of the gospels.
The story in which Jesus stilled a storm and rebuked the wind first appeared in Mark's Gospel (Mark 4:36-41) and was subsequently copied by the authors of Matthew's Gospel and Luke's Gospel. All the New Testament gospels were originally anonymous, so we do not really know who the author was.
